Artist's Comments

Quick little script to remove the recent spam links that have been circulating from dA pages. Links found to point to the dodgy login page, or other links circulated by it are removed and replaced with non-clickable text explaining that there was a spam link.

Requires GreaseMonkey and FireFox. Tested in GM 0.8 and FF 3.0.6.

To install visit the userscripts.org page at http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/42014 (copy the link rather than click it if you would rather) and click the install button.

I will update the links that it detects and removes as I come across them, but feel free to note me if you find any that it doesn't detect and I'll add them and update the deviation.


EDIT (07-Mar-2009): Updated with new spam link definitions - please install the latest version to be better protected by clicking the link shown above and clicking the 'Install' button.

Yup I've got three from mahiratis and he does not speak english the poor man and now it looks like he clicked on the link and all his watchers will get those spams :(

Does it remove them just for the person using the script? Or what? Please explain =/

For people using the script it'll remove them from any dA pages they visit which contain them. It won't remove them from dA itself (comments aren't editable on dA), just stop people who have the script installed from being able to click on them by replacing the link within their browser with non-clickable text.

It's just a little helper to try and stop the spread of them really.

Well, not to be debbie downer here -- but I'm sure only people who are intelligent enough not to click the links are intelligent enough to download this xD

But how does the script know which links to block and which ones not to?
